Brian MacDonald Antique Rugs & Carpets has dated this Antique Turkmen Spindle Bag to the 1880s.
The bag which comprises vertical rows of small 'guls' or tribal crests in knotted-pile on the face, is complete wth plain-weave back and braided cords attached to the sides and base which were originally used for hanging the bag on the camels and inside the yurts.
Size: 57 x 32cm (1' 11" x 1' 1").
