Beautifully conceived to fit elegantly into the corner of a grand interior, the table is richly carved throughout with an abundance of scrolling acanthus foliage, pierced foliate ornament and finely executed Rococo-inspired detailing.

The graceful cabriole legs are joined by an intricately pierced stretcher of flowing C-scrolls, providing both strength and visual elegance, while the shaped frieze is lavishly carved with openwork decoration, demonstrating the exceptional craftsmanship of the period.

Retaining its original beautifully aged water-gilded finish, the surface has acquired a rich, warm patina over almost two centuries, enhancing the depth and character of the carving. The original shaped top is equally impressive, decorated with finely executed marquetry and retaining its wonderfully mellow, naturally aged surface, complementing the gilded base perfectly.
