Nailsea glassware originates from the Nailsea Glassworks near Bristol, established in 1788, recognised for producing dark green or clear glass decorated with distinctive white or coloured looped and festooned enamel trailing.

These flasks were free-blown using heavy bottle glass, onto which threads of contrasting white opaque glass were applied and combed into festoon patterns before being fused into the body and shaped.
