Antique Georgian Mahogany Cheese Coaster

A handsome antique Georgian mahogany cheese coaster, dating from the early 19th century. The coaster features a deeply curved crescent-shaped cradle, with raised shaped sides terminating in turned scroll handles. Raised on a moulded rectangular plinth base, the mahogany has developed a warm, rich colour and attractive patina through age and use. A lovely and increasingly uncommon example.

CONDITION REPORT

In good antique condition throughout with signs of age and use. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches, minor knocks and some variation in colour. There is a small age-related split to the curved sides. Overall, the cheese coaster remains solid and sound.
