A stunning and impressive **Chinese Famille Rose porcelain shell-shaped dish**, dating from the **18th or early 19th century**. Beautifully modelled with an elegant scalloped form, this large export ware dish is richly hand-painted in vibrant enamels, making it a striking decorative piece.

The centre features a finely executed **pheasant (or phoenix)** perched upon a flowering branch, surrounded by colourful **peonies and chrysanthemums**—traditional symbols of prosperity, beauty and longevity in Chinese art. The design closely resembles the celebrated **'Double Peacock Service'** produced for the European export market during the Qing Dynasty.

The wide scalloped border is decorated with an intricate **iron-red foliate scroll design**, a characteristic feature of quality Qing export porcelain, beautifully framing the central scene.

Measuring an impressive **38cm in diameter**, this substantial dish makes an outstanding display piece for collectors of Chinese export porcelain and decorative antiques.

**Condition:** There has been historic restoration and repair, as shown in the photographs. Despite this, the dish displays beautifully and remains an impressive and highly decorative example of early Chinese Famille Rose porcelain.
