Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced in Hungary, Zsolnay ceramics from around 1900 are distinguished by intricate historicist or Art Nouveau patterns and vibrant polychrome finishes. Many pieces feature specialised metallic glazes, such as the famous eosin process, which creates an iridescent visual effect reminiscent of Middle Eastern lustreware.

Lustre glazes are created by applying metallic saltssuch as copper, silver, or bismuthonto a previously fired glazed surface. The vessel is subjected to a secondary reduction firing at lower temperatures, leaving a thin metallic film that reflects light in a rainbow-like spectrum.

Authentic pieces generally feature impressed or painted factory marks on the underside, including the five-churches emblem, the Zsolnay name, and form or design numbers. Collectors also evaluate the weight of the earthenware body, the precise detail of the hand-painted decoration, and the characteristic sheen of the glaze.

A vibrant Art Nouveau vase functions as a focal decorative object when displayed individually on a contemporary console, mantelpiece, or bookshelf. Pairing the vessel with neutral surfaces or dark timber furniture allows the geometric detailing and iridescent tones to stand out without competing with surrounding decor.

Clean glazed ceramics gently using a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive sponges, chemical cleaners, or submersion in water, as moisture can enter fine crazing lines in the glaze and damage metallic surface layers.
