This is a beautiful antique Chinese botanical (Qing) watercolour dating from the mid 19th Century. The well executed painting depicts insects and a butterfly surrounded by native flora.The watercolour is in strong gouache colours on pith and is presented in a neat gilt frame with a raspberry mount. It is in good condition with no breaks to the pith and measures 36 cms by 28 cms overall including the frame.
