Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Candelabras were designed to elevate multiple candle flames on a single central stem, providing enhanced lighting for dining tables and reception rooms prior to electric illumination. The three-branch configuration offers symmetrical lighting and remains a classic form for formal table arrangements.

Authentic silver candelabras are crafted from sterling silver, comprising 92.5 percent pure silver alloyed with copper for structural durability. Construction involves precision casting for central baluster columns and curved branches, alongside hand-finishing, soldering, and fitting removable drip pans and nozzles.

British silver is identified through official assay office hallmarks stamped into the metal. These stamps typically include a makers mark, a purity mark such as the lion passant for sterling silver, an assay office symbol such as the leopards head for London, and a date letter indicating the exact year of manufacture.

A sterling silver candelabra serves as a refined focal point when placed on a dark timber dining table, a stone sideboard, or a fireplace mantelpiece. Combining classic silver tableware with neutral textiles and minimalist modern dinnerware creates a balanced contrast between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary style.

Silver pieces should be dusted regularly with a dry microfiber cloth and treated periodically with a specialist non-abrasive silver polish to remove tarnish oxidation. To preserve the finish, avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and store the item in a low-humidity environment wrapped in anti-tarnish fabric.
