Description

An oak 19th Century long case clock by J. Barber having an eight day movement and striking on the hour. The arch shaped and enamelled dial having a subsidiary seconds dial and a faux date aperture. The corners and arch with gilded painted decoration and the clock retains the original pierced hands. The conforming hood having a shaped top with 3 turned finials, below the fluted columns with brass capitals. The arched long trunk door with working lock, key and brass escutcheon which opens to the weights and pendulum. Below a moulded frieze above the oak base, the whole raised on shaped feet. The dial signature and town unfortunately are not very clear. Condition- Very good and keeping good time but no 12 months guarantee due to price. Dimensions:- Height…83’’/ 211cm. Width…18’’/ 46cm. Depth…10’’/ 25.5cm. Delivery by furniture carrier £60.
