A Pair of Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Salt Cellars, each fitted with a deep cobalt blue glass liner. The sterling silver mounts are pierced and engraved with repeating decorative motifs, finished with a neat beaded rim to the lip. Hallmarked for Sheffield, 1902.
Each cellar stands on a low circular foot, giving a balanced, slightly elevated presentation on the table. The glass liners are a rich dark blue, providing a striking contrast against the bright silver and giving a very clean look when filled. These salts are accompanied by a pair of sterling silver salt spoons with gold-washed bowls, hallmarked for London, 1884.
Measurements:
Height: 2'' (approx. 5cm)
Width: 4'' (approx. 10cm)
Depth: 2 1/4'' (approx. 5.5cm)
Silver weight (of both cellars and spoons combined): 158g
Total weight: 308g
In good condition – The silver shows only light surface wear consistent with age and gentle use. There are no chips or cracks to the glass.
