In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An 18th-century French engraving is an artwork created using a copperplate printing method, where lines were incised into a metal plate, inked, and pressed onto paper to reproduce classical compositions, landscapes, and historical narratives.

These prints were traditionally rendered using iron-gall or carbon-based inks on handmade rag paper, which features distinct chain lines and watermarks, and were subsequently framed in wood or gilt mouldings.

Authentic copperplate prints display a visible plate markan indented impression around the border left by the metal plate during pressingalong with characteristic plate wear, age-appropriate paper tone, and fine hand-engraved line work.

Classical engravings can be displayed as standalone accent pieces on neutral walls, arranged in grid galleries, or integrated alongside contemporary furnishings to provide textural contrast and historical context.

Keep paper prints away from direct sunlight and high humidity to prevent fading and foxing. Frame them using acid-free mounting materials and UV-protective glass to ensure long-term preservation.
