The Fancy Fox has dated this Minton Porcelain Dessert Plate to the Victorian era.
A scattering of naturalistically coloured insects are carefully placed about the scene, dragonflies, butterflies and three delightful ladybirds crawling along the bamboo leaves. Finished with a gilt rim and an inner decorative band showcasing Minton's patented acid gilding, with a subtle Greek key and dot design. Impressed factory mark and date cypher appears to be for 1875. Pattern number G2275.
It measures 23cm (9 1/16") wide.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and very minor handling wear.
