Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in mid-18th century Britain during the George III period, tray top bedside cabinets were functional bedroom items designed with a raised rim gallery to prevent items from falling off, often featuring pierced handholds and enclosed storage compartments.

These cabinets were primarily constructed from solid mahogany and flame mahogany veneers, featuring oak secondary timbers for drawer linings, hand-cut dovetail joints, and cast brass hardware.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-sawn timber marks on back panels, hand-cut dovetail joinery, natural timber shrinkage over time, original brass drop handles, and characteristic pierced gallery handholds carved directly into the tray top border.

A Georgian bedside cabinet functions effectively as an occasional side table beside a modern armchair, a compact storage solution in a hallway alcove, or as a traditional nightstand alongside upholstered bedding.

Maintain mahogany timber by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and applying high-grade natural beeswax once or twice a year, while avoiding direct heat sources and drastic humidity changes to protect the original veneer.
