Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Creamware is a light-coloured earthenware developed in England during the mid-18th century, perfected by makers such as Josiah Wedgwood. It features a translucent lead glaze over a cream-toned body, providing a refined alternative to imported porcelain.

Armorial creamware was crafted from ball clay and flint, fired to create a durable earthenware body, and coated with a clear lead glaze. Hand-painted enamelling was then applied over the glaze to execute personalised family crests, heraldic motifs, and geometric borders.

Authentic pieces typically feature an impressed WEDGWOOD mark stamped cleanly into the underside of the clay. Characteristics of the era include light overall weight, subtle surface irregularities, fine crazing in the lead glaze, and hand-painted overglaze enamel detailing.

Armorial plates are frequently displayed vertically in plate racks, mounted in symmetrical wall arrangements above a sideboard, or set inside glass-fronted cabinets to add historic detail to traditional dining rooms and kitchens.

Clean antique creamware by hand using warm water and a neutral dish soap. Avoid soakings, extreme thermal shock, and automatic dishwashers, as harsh detergents and high heat can damage overglaze enamels and degrade historic lead glazes.
