We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Chippendale Revival furniture produced during the Edwardian era borrows design motifs from 18th-century English cabinetmaker Thomas Chippendale. Key characteristics include intricate pierced back splats, cabriole legs with ball-and-claw feet, and solid mahogany construction with balanced proportions.

Turn-of-the-century side chairs were constructed using solid mahogany joined with traditional mortise-and-tenon joints. The back splats and leg knees featured hand-carved relief detailing, while drop-in seats were built with corner-braced timber frames.

Authentic pieces from circa 1910 display crisp hand-finished carving, natural oxidisation within carved recesses, and uniform wood tone under light reflection. Examination of the underside reveals hand-planed frame members, original corner blocks, and period-appropriate upholstery construction.

An Edwardian side chair functions as an accent piece alongside contemporary neutral desks, placed in a hallway, or integrated into an eclectic dining space. Pairing dark polished mahogany with light textile upholstery creates contrast against pale wall tones.

Dust timber surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually along the wood grain. Keep the chair clear of direct heat sources and prolonged sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage or fabric fading.
