Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A bijouterie table, also known as a vitrine table or shadow box table, is a small piece of furniture designed with glass side panels and a glazed hinged top to display small precious objects, medals, or jewellery while keeping them protected.

These tables are traditionally constructed from solid hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut, featuring glass viewing panes, velvet or fabric lining inside the display compartment, and brass hardware such as hinges and keyhole escutcheons.

Look for period-correct joinery, natural wear around the feet and stretchers, original brass key fittings, and decorative woodworking details typical of the era, such as turned or barley twist legs.

Place the table as an accent piece in a hallway, bay window, or quiet corner, using the interior display case to present pocket watches, geological specimens, or curio items alongside contemporary decorative accents.

Dust the woodwork regularly with a soft cloth and apply a quality bees wax polish along the grain annually. Clean glass panels using a specialist glass cleaner applied to a cloth rather than sprayed directly onto the frame to protect the surrounding timber.
