These pieces were produced from refined white earthenware, utilising multiple copper-plate engravings to layer primary coloured enamels under a clear protective glaze prior to final kiln firing.

Authentic examples display precise alignment of coloured inks, fine stippled detail within the transfer scene, period glaze crazing, and relief-moulded borders containing mottoes or foliate elements.
