The piece is distinguished by a striking, vibrant green-enameled five-clawed dragon, which is rendered with extraordinary attention to detail; the scales are painted with a meticulous, rhythmic precision that creates a net-like structure, while the claws are articulated with sharp, masterful definition.
The artistic composition is particularly noteworthy for its dynamism, as the dragon motif extends from the interior and continues gracefully around the exterior of the bowl, maintaining a balanced and fluid presence. This central design is set against a backdrop of masterfully incised anhua (secret decoration) waves, which have been carved into the clay while it was in a leather-hard state.
