This tea caddy has a silver coloured metal top handle in the form of a double spouted teapot, hinged lid with a tin lined interior and an interior lift out lid which has a bone handle and sits on top of the tea to preserve freshness. There is great attention to detail with tiny banding of the edges and around the burr walnut inlay.
A lock is fitted to the front and can be locked using the tea caddy's original key which is unusual to still have. Tea was a very expensive and luxury item in Georgian times so would have been stored and locked away in a caddy.
A highly decorative antique piece in wonderful condition being over 230 years old.
Date: 18th century - c1790.

Weight: 434 g.
Condition: Excellent antique condition with light signs of use in keeping with age. Some fading and just one or two tiny losses to the scrollwork. Some wear to the inside tin lining. Please see pictures.
