The face of this ''chanteh'' or vanity-bag is extremely, finely knotted in diagonal coloured bands and surrounded by an ivory border of small, stylized flowers.The Varamin region is inhabited by a mixture of tribes such as Lors, Kurds, Afshars and Shahsevan as well as Arabs and according to Parviz Tanavoli in his book ''Rustic & Tribal Weaves from Varamin'', an almost identical piece on page 78, he attributes to the Koti Arab tribes and made during the last quarter 19th century. Tehran was chosen as the capital of Persia in 1795 by Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar and in order to be close to the Persian court, tribal khans and chieftains from all over Persia moved to the Varamin plains.
