Description

A fabulous large majolica cheese bell and stand by George Jones & Sons. Decorated with the Apple Blossom pattern, set on a bright turquoise ground overlaid with apple blossom flowers and a moulded, bound apple tree branch to form the handle. There is a wide band of moulded basketweave effect around the body and also to the edge of the stand. The stand is marked with the impressed factory mark and Victorian registration mark for the year 1873. It has the partial model number 80 in black and the inside of the bell has the model number 3240 80.

It measures 32cm (12 1/3") high. The bell measures 22.5cm (9 7/8") wide and the stand is 28.5cm (11 1/4") wide. 

Condition is excellent; there is just one very small chip to the inner raised flange on the stand but otherwise there is no damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear.
