ANTIQUE #SA1222419

George III 'cockpen' Armchair

£975    $1,321    €1,149
A Georgian ''Cockpen'' open armchair.

Circa 1800.

A lovely period example and an iconic design.

The chair is crafted mainly from mahogany, with choice veneering to the back rest.

The front legs appear to be cut from laburnum wood, the rear legs have had sympathetic and historic slicing to where the leg terminates, thus priced accordingly.

An interesting use and mixture of woods, slight movement to the arms, otherwise structurally sound.

Minor imperfections to be expected.
