Antique 14.75" Sterling Silver Oval Link Albert Watch Chain Necklace With T-bar And Dog Clips

This Antique Albert Chain showcases intertwined oval curb links, complete with a T-bar drop and two vintage swivel dog clips, modelled throughout in sterling silver. Measuring a length of 14.75''.
 
An Albert chain is a decorative chain initially used to attach a pocket watch to the wearer''s clothing. The chain was named after Prince Albert, who was said to have been fond of wearing watch chains. The Dog clip would have been used to attach a pocket watch or fob, and the T-Bar would go through the buttonhole of a waistcoat to secure it in place.
 
Today, these are worn as necklaces, and the clips can also be used to hang pendants or charms.
