Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A guilloche enamel purse mirror is a miniature hand mirror crafted in silver with a precise geometric design engine-turned onto the surface before translucent vitreous enamel is applied and fired. Popular during the Art Deco era, these compact accessories were designed to fit into small evening bags or suspend from chatelaines.

Silversmiths utilised sterling silver for the frame and handle, engraving linear or wavy patterns onto the metal using a rose engine lathe. Coloured translucent glass enamel paste was painted over the engraved base and fused at high temperatures in a kiln to produce a glossy, durable finish.

Authentic silver pieces feature official hallmarking stamps indicating the silver purity standard, assay office location, date letter, and makers mark, usually placed on the silver edge or handle. The engine-turned engraving beneath the enamel exhibits sharp symmetry consistent with early twentieth-century metalwork.

Miniature vanity mirrors can be displayed flat on a mirrored dressing table tray, framed within a glass shadow box on a gallery wall, or styled alongside crystal perfume bottles on a bathroom shelf.

Gently wipe the silver frame with a dry silver-polishing cloth, taking care not to apply liquid abrasives that could loosen the enamel or seep behind the glass mirror. Store flat in a dry, velvet-lined box away from direct sunlight and humidity fluctuations to prevent tarnishing or cracking.
