Description

A. Super georgian period leather country house fire bucket c1780.

It is totally original with no repairs or problems

It measures 29cms h and 26cms wide.

This doesnt include the handle.

In remarkable condition and even retails some of the original lettering which probably either refers to the house or room in the house.

See pics. Now often repurposed to hold flowers etc.

We have deliberately left it unpolished but will willingly wax it if required.

During the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, leather fire buckets served as primary firefighting equipment before municipal water networks were established. Residents and municipal brigades lined up to pass water-filled buckets hand to hand to extinguish fires.
