Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Welsh bread and cheese cupboard, traditionally known in Welsh as a cwtch bara caws, is a regional two-part storage cabinet crafted during the 18th and 19th centuries that features ventilated panels in the upper doors designed for food preservation.

These cupboards were typically constructed using locally sourced English or Welsh oak, featuring pegged mortise-and-tenon joints, slatted or turned spindle ventilation apertures, and decorative geometric wood inlays such as holly, ebony, or mahogany.

Genuine period examples display hand-sawn timber marks, historic wear around cabinet handles, original slatted ventilation panels, period-correct iron or brass fittings, and bone or ivory keyhole escutcheons.

Position the cupboard as a focal storage piece in a dining room, kitchen, or hallway, pairing its deep timber tones with neutral wall palettes, contemporary stone ceramics, and natural linen textiles.

Preserve the timber surface by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a clear beeswax polish once or twice per year, ensuring the piece is kept away from direct heat sources and excessive humidity.
