A fine Vieux Paris biscuit porcelain sculptural group produced during the third quarter of the nineteenth century. The composition shows three figures adorning a classical urn with elaborate floral swags, combining the elegance of French Romanticism with the refinement of Parisian decorative porcelain.The exceptional quality of the hand-modelled decoration immediately distinguishes this piece. Individually formed flowers, petals and foliage were applied by hand using the traditional pastillage technique, a labour-intensive process requiring considerable skill.The biscuit surface creates a soft marble-like effect and beautifully preserves the delicate modelling throughout the composition. The underside bears an incised letter M, probably a workshop or assembly mark.Produced within the Vieux Paris tradition, the group belongs to the rich network of independent Parisian porcelain makers who supplied luxury decorative objects to fashionable nineteenth-century interiors.Coll...
