A very elegant Victorian mahogany height adjustable piano stool with a beautifully carved stem and tripod base. Finished with a light blue padded seat. This wonderful stool was manufactured by renowned Victorian cabinetmaker JAS Shoolbred of Tottenham Court Road, London. Stamped to the underside of the seat with its serial number and still retaining the ''JAS Shoolbred'' makers label. A lovely example, illustrating fully the high quality of craftsmanship emanating from the Shoolbred workshops. Overall condition is very good, with the winding mechanism being in excellent order. The padded seat is still comfortable and in clean condition. We have noted one of the four buttons is slightly loose. Additionally, to the underside, one of the legs shows an historic repair being braced with a purpose-made steel bracket. All of which adds more character to this magnificent little stool.
