Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery from the 1920s emphasizes geometric symmetry, clean architectural lines, and fine metalwork such as platinum settings. Rings from this era frequently feature hand-cut central diamonds accompanied by stepped, baguette, or pave-set accent stones.

Platinum became the primary choice of metal in the 1920s due to its strength and ability to hold intricate detail, though white gold was also used. Diamonds were hand-cut, yielding Old European, Old Mine, or Old Cushion cuts with unique facet proportions.

Authentic period pieces display hand-cut diamond characteristics, such as a small table, steep crown, high dome, and a visible open culet at the base. Markings inside the band often indicate platinum or high-carat purity, alongside distinct geometric shoulder work typical of early twentieth-century craftsmanship.

Classic solitaire designs complement modern attire by providing subtle contrast against contemporary tailored suits or minimalist casual wear. When displayed, these pieces are often paired with velvet ring boxes or marble trinket trays on dressing tables.

Clean the piece using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled toothbrush to clear debris around the setting. Avoid harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners if micro-set shoulder stones are present, and have claws inspected annually by a professional jeweller.
