Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne Chinoiserie style refers to 18th-century English furniture design and late 19th-century revivals characterised by graceful arched crestings, Japanned or lacquered finishes, and hand-painted motifs depicting Asian-inspired landscapes, figures, and flora.

These pieces typically feature timber frames coated in layers of black or red lacquer, decorated with gilding or raised gesso work. The glass plates often incorporate cut or etched detailing near the upper crest, combined with silvered mirror backings.

Authentic late Victorian revivals feature hand-cut wooden backboards, natural age-related craquelure on lacquered surfaces, minor oxidisation on the mirror plate, and fine hand-drawn brushwork on gilded chinoiserie decorations.

Position a matching pair symmetrically to frame a doorway, window alcove, or central feature such as a console table. The dark lacquered frames and reflective glass provide vertical height and structure in both traditional and contemporary settings.

Dust frames regularly using a clean, soft microfibre cloth or feather duster without applying pressure. Avoid liquid furniture polishes, water, or chemical glass cleaners on lacquered or gilded areas, as moisture can break down historic coatings.
