Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Blanc de Chine refers to monochrome white porcelain produced without overglaze enamel decoration, highlighting the translucent ceramic body and sculptural detailing. English manufacturers like Derby produced these soft-paste and hard-paste variations during the eighteenth century, drawing stylistic influence from Chinese originals.

These items were slip-cast or hand-moulded from vitrified porcelain clay before applying a clear, lead-based glaze. Figures, foliage, and candle sconces were crafted as separate components and assembled by hand prior to high-temperature kiln firing.

Period porcelain often features firing minor inconsistencies, unglazed base rims, precise hand-tooling, and glaze pooling within carved details. Maker marks, such as incised numbers or painted crowns, may appear on the base, though many white glazed pieces remain unassigned.

Arranging a pair symmetrically on a dark wood sideboard or fireplace mantle creates visual contrast and balance. The monochrome white finish allows these sculptural pieces to integrate into classical, maximalist, or minimalist interior schemes.

Dust regularly using a soft, natural-bristle brush around delicate porcelain foliage and features. To remove wax residue, submerge the affected area briefly in lukewarm water without harsh chemical detergents or abrasive cloths.
