Carved Walnut Upholstered Footstool c.1930
A well-made English walnut footstool dating from around 1930, in the Chippendale revival style. The frame is finely carved with shell motifs to the knees and scroll feet, displaying good quality craftsmanship typical of the period.
The seat is upholstered in a floral damask fabric with yellow stripes and decorative fringe trim. The upholstery shows light wear and marking consistent with age, while the walnut frame retains a warm patina with minor surface marks.
An original maker’s plaque from Thomas Clarkson & Sons Ltd, Furnishers, Snow Hill, Wolverhampton, is fitted beneath
