The piece features a finely painted oil-on-canvas panel above a mirror plate, housed within a painted and parcel-gilt wooden frame.The upper panel presents a Rococo Revival scene in the manner of 18th-century fêtes galantes, with a courting couple and child by a riverbank, a wooded path, and rustic buildings in the distance. The mirror plate below retains natural foxing consistent with age.
