The distinctive scrolling supports, carved with restrained foliate ornament, terminate in graceful volutes and are joined by a decorative central stretcher, giving the piece a refined sculptural quality influenced by late Regency and William IV design.The original mirror plate survives with pleasing age-related foxing and minor losses to the silvering, particularly to the upper corner, entirely consistent with age and adding character to the piece.
