Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Miniature furniture and doll beds originated as salesman samples, master craftsman apprenticeship pieces, or luxury playthings during the 18th and 19th centuries, reflecting the exact design styles and joinery techniques of full-scale period furniture.

These miniature pieces were typically constructed from pine, fruitwood, or mahogany using traditional woodworking methods, then finished with hand-painted folk art detailing, varnish, or decorative glass finials.

Authentic examples feature hand-cut wooden slats, traditional mortise and tenon joinery, natural timber shrinkage, and aged surface patina with subtle wear to the hand-painted decoration rather than modern printed transfers.

Display the piece on a bookshelf, sideboard top, or inside a glass cabinet as a historical curiosity, or pair it alongside collections of antique textiles and ceramics to add character to a scheme.

Dust gently with a soft dry brush or microfibre cloth, keep away from direct sunlight to prevent pigment fading, and avoid using liquid solvents or damp cloths that could lift original painted decoration.
