A good Regency papier-mâché tray retaining its unusual original decoration; the rectangular tray with rounded corners, having a flared gallery with a slender moulded edge. Finely decorated in gilt of puttie, climbing scrolling foliage, terminating in griffin's heads; on a burgundy background with red swags; surrounding the black central panel.

English circa 1820

Good original condition. Minor wear commensurate with age and use.
