Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Shahsevan saddle bag, traditionally known as a khorjin, is a hand-woven double pouch crafted by nomadic tribes in northwestern Iran and Azerbaijan. These textiles were used on pack animals during seasonal migrations to transport personal belongings and household goods.

Tribal saddle bags are woven predominantly from hand-spun sheep wool, often incorporating cotton highlights or goat hair warp threads. They frequently utilise flatweave or sumak techniques alongside pile weaving, dyed using natural plant and mineral sources.

Authentic Shahsevan textiles are distinguished by their complex geometric motifs, including star medallions and latch-hook symbols, alongside saturated natural dye shades like deep red, indigo, and ivory. Structural details such as braided closure loops and flatwoven backs also indicate genuine nomadic craftsmanship.

Small tribal saddle bags can be mounted and framed as textured wall art, draped across console tables, or displayed on open shelving to add geometric pattern and rich color to neutral spaces. They also serve as tactile accent pieces when placed on timber or stone surfaces.

Vacuum tribal textiles gently using a low-suction upholstery attachment without a rotating brush, and protect them from direct sunlight to prevent dye fading. Professional dry cleaning or specialist rug washing is recommended for thorough maintenance.
