Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

In the seventeenth century, table boxes were portable storage containers placed on tables or desks to hold essential items such as Bibles, legal documents, writing instruments, and family valuables.

Early table boxes were primarily constructed from solid English oak, joinery held together with wooden pegs, hand-carved front panels, and wrought iron hardware including strap hinges and lock plates.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-planed surfaces, irregular gauge ironwork, peg joinery, relief carving executed with hand chisels, and deep natural patination from centuries of handling.

These boxes function well as decorative focal points atop contemporary sideboards, console tables, or office desks, serving as historical accents that complement both traditional and eclectic spaces.

Preservation requires regular dusting with a soft cloth and occasional applications of natural beeswax polish to protect the timber surface and maintain historical patination without stripping the finish.
