Description

A gorgeous Victorian garnet brooch featuring a glossy domed garnet cabochon framed in a double halo of twinkling wine coloured rose-cut garnets.

The garnets are set into "garnet gold" - a description used to describe a very low carat gold or gilded base metal typically used in Victorian garnet jewellery.

SIZE: 2.5cm diameter.

WEIGHT: 6.5g.

MATERIALS: Garnet, metal.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: None.

CONDITION: Excellent antique condition.

ERA: Victorian (c.1837-1901).
