Victorian Scottish Antique Silver “Mary” Brooch, Inverness C.1866

Description

A rare Victorian antique Scottish silver Luckenbooth or Mary brooch. Made in Inverness by Peter G. Wilson circa 1866. This is a very ornate design of brooch with a central piece with a crown and initials “MR” for Mary Regina. This type of brooch originally made for Mary Queen of Scots as a present for her lover Lord Darnley. This one is in excellent condition and is a very collectible piece of silver. It is marked “PGW” “INS” and has a typically Victorian “C” clasp for the pin.
