Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Ninth Century pattern was developed by Tiffany Studios around 1910, drawing design inspiration from early medieval Celtic knotwork, illuminated manuscripts, and Byzantine metalwork. Items in this desk set line feature cast bronze, interlaced zoomorphic motifs, and bezel-set glass cabochons.

These items were cast in solid bronze using precision moulding techniques, then finished with gilding or chemical patination to achieve a metallic lustre. Decorative elements frequently incorporated Favrile glass cabochons, enamel, or inset stones.

Authentic examples bear impressed maker stamps on the underside or reverse, typically reading TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK alongside a specific model number. Originals display sharp casting definition, heavy weight, and authentic age wear to the original gilt finish.

Place bookends on a timber bookcase, console table, or executive desk to frame a selection of books. Grouping them alongside brass desk implements or framed monochrome artwork creates a classic study aesthetic.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft, clean microfibre cloth or a soft-bristled brush to reach recessed interlace details. Avoid liquid metal polishes, abrasive cleaners, or chemical solvents, as these will permanently strip the original gold gilding and patination.
