Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Brynmawr furniture originated in Wales during the 1930s Quaker social initiative, characterised by clean lines, functional forms, and minimalist Arts and Crafts influences that favoured simple, honest joinery over elaborate Victorian ornamentation.

Pieces from this era were typically constructed from solid British oak or oak veneers, featuring hand-dovetailed drawer joints, plain wooden handles or pull knobs, and solid timber internal shelving.

Authentic pieces frequently bear paper makers labels or stamped brand marks from manufacturers like the Brynmawr Furniture Company, accompanied by distinct geometric wooden handles, panelled doors, and solid oak drawer linings.

A 1930s bureau functions effectively in a modern home office or hallway, where its warm natural grain contrasts balance against minimalist neutral walls, simple task lighting, and tactile linen textiles.

To preserve oak furniture, dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish once or twice per year, ensuring the timber is kept away from direct heat sources and excessive moisture.
