An attractive French faux bamboo washstand dating from the late 19th century.
The washstand features its original white variegated marble top that sits above one full-width drawer with turned wooden pulls. Originally intended for use in a bedroom or dressing room, it now makes a versatile piece suitable as a bedside cabinet, bathroom stand, hallway table or decorative accent furniture.
The swivel mirror retains its original rippled effect mirror plate.
The finely turned front legs lead down to a recessed lower shelf set above the fine bun feet that support the piece.
The warm patina of the wood combines well with the faux bamboo detailing, highlighting the craftsmanship and character that have developed over time.
Presented in very good condition, having been fully cleaned and restored in our workshop. There is evidence of old / historic worm that is long gone but the piece has been treated purely as a precautionary measure.
The marble top remains in good order and
...the piece is sturdy and ready for everyday use.
