Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian oil lamps of this type feature a fuel reservoir mounted on a decorative pedestal column with a brass burner assembly. They are characterised by glass shades often featuring frosted patterns and coloured rims, particularly ruby or cranberry hues produced using gold oxide during manufacturing.

These lighting fixtures were crafted using molded or cut crystal glass for the bases and fonts, brass or cast iron for the functional burner mechanisms, and mouth-blown decorative glass for the shade.

Authentic period examples exhibit hand-finished details such as pontil marks on blown glass shades, original brass winder knobs bearing manufacturer stamps, and typical wear on the base joints and brass threading.

Place the lamp on a dark wood sideboard, console table, or fireplace mantelpiece as a sculptural centerpiece. Combining period glassware with contemporary neutral backdrop tones allows the colour of the shaded rim to stand out.

Clean glass components using lukewarm water and a mild detergent, avoiding harsh abrasives that could damage delicate etching or gilding. Brass elements should be dusted with a soft dry cloth to preserve their original aged patina.
