Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bobbin-turned furniture features decorative legs and stretchers created on a lathe to resemble a series of connected wooden spools or bobbins. This style gained widespread popularity during the 17th century and experienced a significant revival during the Victorian era.

Mid-19th century stools were frequently constructed from dense hardwoods such as rosewood, mahogany, or walnut. Upholstery traditionally incorporated horsehair padding covered in silk, wool, or cotton textiles, supported by webbing and traditional joinery.

Authentic Victorian bobbin stools display hand-assembled joinery, natural timber grain variations, and aged patina on turned elements. The bobbins often exhibit subtle irregularities from hand-guided lathe turning rather than modern machine uniformity.

A rosewood bobbin stool functions as an accent seat at the foot of a bed, beside a fireplace, or positioned under a dressing table. Its rich wood tones and detailed profile complement both traditional schemes and contemporary layered spaces.

Maintain rosewood by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax paste sparingly once or twice a year. Keep timber away from direct sunlight and central heating sources to prevent drying or cracking.
