Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Cranberry glass gained immense popularity during the Victorian era in the nineteenth century. Glassmakers achieved the characteristic deep pink colour by fusing gold chloride into molten glass, creating shades used extensively on oil and paraffin lamps.

These shades were traditionally hand-blown from gold-infused glass to produce the gradient tone. The decorative patterns were applied using acid-etching techniques, where hydrofluoric acid was used to eat away unmasked areas of glass to form detailed foliate motifs.

Authentic pieces usually display minor glass anomalies such as air bubbles, slight colour variations, and a hand-finished or ground rim edge. Acid-etched detailing on original pieces shows fine depth and precision rather than modern superficial printing.

A cranberry glass shade can be fitted onto an existing antique oil lamp conversion or adapted for a electric table lamp base. Its rich colour acts as a decorative accent on side tables, sideboards, or mantelpieces within traditional or eclectic interiors.

Wash the shade gently by hand using lukewarm water and a mild detergent, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads. Ensure it is dried thoroughly with a soft microfibre cloth and never subject the glass to rapid temperature changes.
