Antique Gothic Revival Brass Three-Light Gasolier with Opalescent Glass Shades
A handsome late Victorian three-light gasolier in solid brass, dating from around 1900 and designed in the Gothic Revival style.
The circular frame is pierced with alternating quatrefoil and round motifs, supported by arched brass ribs rising to a domed top with decorative scrollwork. Three curved arms project from the ring, each designed to take a glass shade above the gas jets (now adapted for electricity).
The gasolier retains an attractive aged patina and comes with three impressive hand-blown opalescent glass shades of softly crimped bell form, each with a delicate iridescent sheen.
