Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A smoking cabinet is a specialised tabletop chest, popular during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, designed to house pipes, tobacco, cigars, and related smoking accessories in organised drawers and door racks.

Edwardian smoking cabinets were primarily crafted from native hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut, often fitted with metal handles, drop hinges, and internal ceramic or tin-lined compartments.

Authentic pieces feature period-correct joinery such as hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, original metal hardware, integrated pipe holder slots inside the doors, and natural age-related patination on the timber.

These compact wooden cabinets serve as functional desktop organisers, stationery storage chests, or decorative display pieces on a sideboard, bookshelf, or home office desk.

Dust the timber regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish annually along the grain to protect the original finish, avoiding silicone sprays and direct heat sources.
