Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Albani vase is a classical Roman marble vessel, characterised by relief carvings of mythological figures and masks, which became a popular model for scaled bronze reproductions acquired by travellers on the Grand Tour during the 18th and 19th centuries.

These urns were cast in patinated bronze using traditional founding techniques, with hand-chased surface details, and mounted onto carved marble or porphyry plinths to provide weight and contrast.

Authentic period examples display crisp hand-finished casting, age-appropriate surface oxidisation, and are mounted to marble bases using original iron or brass threaded rod fixings.

A pair of bronze urns can be arranged symmetrically on a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard, or within a bookcase to add structured architectural interest and classic proportions.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding liquid chemicals or abrasive cleaners, and apply a thin coat of clear microcrystalline wax periodically to protect the patina.
