A well executed Art Deco sculpture of an albatross riding a wave in the wind, by the French sculptor Rene Papa. A sculptor who was active in the 19th/20th century and who held a professorship at the École des beaux-arts in Paris. This example in patinated spelter and mounted on a rectangular black marble base. The albatross slots onto the wave, to make transportation straightforward.
